Kim Collier
Client Liaison
Kim is the first person you will see and speak with when you call or walk into The Business Guides' office. Kim schedules meetings, fulfills data requests, and makes sure clients get connected to the person or resource they need (including a hot cup of coffee or tea!) Business ownership runs in her family, and with experience in a wide variety of fields, Kim is well positioned to understand the diverse needs of our clients. Kim was born and raised in upstate New York, on the shores of Lake Ontario. She studied video production in college, and practiced her trade in Albany, where she operated camera for local news stations. Her favorite assignments were covering the NYS Court of Appeals. Later she worked in another legal setting: a County Clerk's office, recording deeds and filing liens. Kim returned to her home town to help her father run his two businesses: an engineering machine design firm and a popular local tavern. She wore all the "hats" and got an in-depth "people education" while bartending. Then she and her new husband, Joe, struck out on their own and together opened an Austrian-inspired bakery and pastry shop. While their pastries developed an adoring following, the recession of 2008 was tough on their rural town, so they closed the bakery doors and planned a move west. They found their way to the Quimper Peninsula in 2017. Kim joined The Business Guides in December of that year. So far, the couple has enjoyed mushroom hunting, hiking, sailing, and potlucks with their new neighbors. Kim can be reached at 360-385-6961 or kim@thebusinessguides.com.
